Aleksandre Ratishvili, a member of the Tbilisi Council of the party “For the People” addressed the Tbilisi Assembly session regarding the minimum wage.
“We’ve got one shameful story in Georgia when the minimum wage was set in 1999, no one has reconsidered it since then and even today the minimum wage is 20 GEL by law. This is terrible and shameful,” Alexander Ratishvili said at the City Council session.
He also addressed the Chairman of the City Council to set up a working group in this regard and start a broad public debate in the Tbilisi format, with the participation of businessmen, economists, and other stakeholders.
According to Alexander Ratishvili, as well as determining the living wage, as well as determining a decent minimum wage is extremely important.
